Purpose: To temporarily delay the start of your period for special occasions, holidays, or events.
MedicationThe treatment usually involves a prescription for Norethisterone tablets, a synthetic version of the female hormone progesterone.
How it WorksThe tablets work by maintaining high levels of progesterone in the body. This prevents the womb lining from shedding, which is the natural trigger for a period. When you stop taking the tablets, your progesterone levels drop, and your period begins a few days later
DosageThe tablets are typically taken one tablet, three times a day.
TimingTreatment must be started 3 days before your expected period due date.
DurationThe medication can be taken to delay your period for up to 17 days (depending on the prescribed course).
Cycle ResumptionYour period is generally expected to start within 2 to 3 days after you stop taking the tablets.
Important NotePeriod delay tablets are not a form of contraception and will not protect against pregnancy.
A consultation with the pharmacist is required to check your suitability for the treatment.
We offer a comprehensive pharmacist service for period delay in a safe and comfortable setting in house.
